Hydraulic Locking Cylinders Come in Additional Standard Strokes
PFA Inc.’s new 70 series “mini” hydraulic locking core pull cylinder, part of the Kor-Lok side action system product line for faster mold builds, is driving more standard strokes for off-the-shelf assembly and next-day delivery.
“We are raising the bar with more stocking options to support increased demand for shorter strokes on the Kor-Lok ‘mini’ model 70 and are extending that to other sizes,” PFA vice president Mark Scanlan says.

Portable Metrology-Grade 3D Scanner Ideal for Large, Complex Surfaces

Creaform, a business unit of Ametek Inc. and manufacturer of portable 3D measurement solutions and engineering services, reveals the latest addition of its flagship HandySCAN 3D lineup, the MAX Series. The handheld line of industrial 3D scanners, designed and manufactured in Canada, offers a scanning area of approximately 1m × 1m and was developed to acquire accurate 3D measurements of any large and complex surfaces up to 15m. It is suitable for large plastic injection molds in particular.
Extended mold plate range increases customer flexibility
Hasco announces the expansion of its mold plate range to around 2,000 variants of undrilled P-plates and drilled K-plates, promoting standardization as well as increasing the flexibility requirements of modern moldmaking. Hascos says its plates offer an optimal combination of simplicity, precision and availability, achieving cost-effectiveness.

Mold Monitoring System Available to North American Customers

Globeius Inc. is now supplying Mouldpro’s Flosense 1.0, a flexible flow monitoring system that accurately monitors manifold and pressure and temperature on injection molds, to North American customers.
Affordable in addition to being flexible, Flosense 1.0 aims to improve processing control and quality. The system uses sensors to measure the differences in input and output temperatures (Delta T) and pressures (Delta P) as well as total flow rate through the system.
Solid Carbide Cutter Mills Aluminum
Walter USA has unveiled its new MC166 Advance solid carbide milling cutter, which is suitable for all industrial sectors that machine aluminum, copper, brass, bronze and magnesium-based alloys. Aluminum tooling is often used as a low-cost alternative to steel tooling for lower production quantities, making this product applicable for some moldmakers.
